UK Illusionist Performs on the Largest Ship in Australia

As an Illusionist, I get the privilege to see a lot of the world. To be able to travel, share my passion of performing magic and get paid for it, I really do feel blessed indeed. Australia and New Zealand have always been two countries right at the top of my bucket list. The unbelievable landscapes have always appealed to me as a truly magical place. Recently I got a chance to see them in all their glory when I was invited to perform as an Illusionst on the Golden Princess for four months.
UK Illusionist Makes Magic Down Under
The Golden Princess is currently the largest cruise ship to cruise around Australia and New Zealand. It weighs in at 108,865 tons and carried its 2’363 passengers on a beautiful two week cruise that visited the ports of Melbourne, Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga, Gisborne, Dunedin, and the beautiful Fiordlands. When not taking in the glorious and magical landscapes, we were performing our magic and Illusions onstage, the challenge however, my job as an illusionist was to give the guests something completely different and to show them magic that they have never seen before!
Illusionist Performs Aerial Magic in Mid Air
Whilst on-board we performed two shows that couldn’t be more different. The first was our Illusion show, which featured some our biggest and best illusions and also featured some stunning aerial artistry. I enjoy creating something spectacular for all of my magic shows and the superb facilities of the theatre on-board gave us the chance to get truly creative. Seating around eight hundred guests, the theatre boasted three aerial rig points and a huge video screen which we were able to create some unbelievable video backdrops. We created a new routine which was a classic of magic, the snowstorm in China, only Kat performed it eight metres in the air whilst being spun on an aerial rope! Check out the video below!
Close up Magician performs for over 800 Guests
The second show was a Close up magic show, which showcased my favourite sleight of hand magic routines. Very rarely does an audience get to see a magician work up close and so we designed a close up magic show that was staged in theatre for over eight hundred guests. Using multiple cameras, which were projected onto a huge screen behind me, the audience got to see magic than they have ever seen it before.
The Trip of A Lifetime
Australia and New Zealand has captured my heart and imagination. I have come back from the cruise inspired and ready to create some new amazing illusions for our next big adventure.
